Other Professional Interests

Mrs Robinson has a particular interest in medical education. She has been involved in this for 17 years and has been Head of the School of Ophthalmology in the West Midlands and a member of the training committee at the Royal College of Ophthalmologists until recently. Having completed a Masters in Medical Education at the University of Warwick in 2008, her particular interest in this field is communication skills and assessment of trainees in clinical practice.

She also has an interest in visual rehabilitation. She maintains that supporting a patient through vision loss is just as important as saving sight.  She believes that patients who are adequately informed and supported through their vision loss are more likely to accept the disability and move forward to embrace the training available to continue to lead as independent a life as possible.

Personal Interests

As a mother of two teenagers and a full time clinician, family is her first priority in her spare time.
